The Philippine Collegian (Kulê) and the UP Diliman Bulwagan ng Dangal University Heritage Museum (BnD) are launching the exhibition “Above the Fold: Pages of the Philippine Collegian Under Marcos Regime.” By examining selected materials published by the university’s official student publication from years prior the proclamation of Martial Law in the country until the ousting of the dictator in 1986, the exhibit aims to demonstrate how the student publication can be considered a contested site of various players, vulnerable and at the same time resistant to the manipulation of the dictatorial regime and its agents.
